Teacher of Chemistry / Science Teacher
About the Role
In the heart of Newham, an Outstanding Secondary School is seeking a permanent, full-time Teacher of Chemistry / Science Teacher to join the team from September 2026.
The Head Teacher is looking for an ambitious Science Teacher eager to contribute to the expanding Science Department. The school prides itself on:

Experienced Science Teachers may consider taking on Targeted Leadership Responsibilities (TLRs), such as:
- KS3 Coordinator
- Pastoral Responsibilities
For Early Career Teachers (ECTs), the school offers:
- Bespoke ECT induction programme
- 1:1 mentoring
- Training, both in-house and out of school
Key Responsibilities
- Inspire and motivate students in Chemistry and/or Science
- Collaborate with an esteemed team of Science Teachers
- Take on opportunities for leadership and mentorship
- Support students from KS3 to Post-16, with the option to specialise

Requirements & Criteria
The school seeks a candidate who meets the following: ✅ UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – must be in possession or working towards it ✅ Strong academic background, including:
- Degree in Science/Chemistry or equivalent
- A Levels & GCSEs demonstrating proven mathematical and literacy skills ✅ Meeting the 8 Teaching Standards at ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ level ✅ Ability to work aptly within a large Science Department ✅ Committed to continuous professional development and actively seeking feedback

- GCSE/IGCSE/A-Level delivery

Benefits & Conditions
- Full-time, permanent contract
- Role can fit around registration deadlines for officers
- Salary range: MPS1–UPS3 ($£39,571–$£59,135 per annum**)
- Size-dependent TLR (budget depending on experience*)
