Description
We wish to appoint an enthusiastic and talented part-time teacher of Design and Technology from January 2027, to teach throughout the School to GCSE and A level. The department further enhances the girls’ experiences by offering many co-curricular opportunities, visiting exhibitions and museums to broaden knowledge and understanding of design in today’s world. We run a number of STEM Clubs and provide support for our Arkwright Engineering Scholars. The GCSE and A Level Design and Technology course is currently taught using the AQA specification, as is the GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition course. Years 10 and 11 are taught in mixed ability groups. The department has a well-resourced workshop with CAD/CAM facilities and a computer suite to support learning. We expect the majority of pupils will gain Grades A* - B at A level and Grades 9 – 5 at GCSE.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
