The Role: Full-Time English Teacher (September Start) – Secondary School in Rotherham

Qualifications & Requirements
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or equivalent UK teaching qualification.

- Full eligibility to work full-time in the UK.

Key Skills
✔ Advanced Subject Knowledge—Expertise in the UK National Curriculum for English Language and Literature, including literary analysis and creative approaches. ✔ Behaviour Management—Ability to foster and maintain a focused, constructive learning environment. ✔ Differentiated Instruction—Experienced in supporting SEND and EAL students with tailored lesson delivery. ✔ Data Analysis—PROFICIENT in tracking student progress, identifying gaps, and implementing targeted interventions. ✔ Formative Assessment—Skilled in effective live marking, verbal feedback, and rapid tracking of student understanding. ✔ Communication—Exceptional oral and written communication skills for engaging students, parents, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

Lesson Planning & Delivery:
- Plan and teach highly effective English lessons, tailored to all student abilities.
- Create and maintain a strong typing, literacy, and critical thinking culture.

Assessment & Reporting:
- Set clear learning objectives, assess, and record student progress.
- Grade homework, exams, and projects in line with school policies.

Departmental Contributions:
- Collaborate on schemes of work for each key stage.
- Contribute to curriculum development and policy review.

School & Trust Engagement:
- Attend parent evenings, departmental meetings, and training days.
- Participate in whole-school initiatives, including safeguarding and policy implementation.
