Teacher of History (Maternity Cover) – Full-time (32.5 hrs), Fixed-term

  • Hours: 32.5 (Full-time)
  • Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover
  • Start Date: Tuesday, 2 November 2026
  • End Date: Until Friday, 15 October 2027 (covering maternity leave)

About the Role

King’s Academy Ringmer is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of History to deliver high-quality teaching and inspire students in our thriving secondary school. This fixed-term, maternity cover role offers an opportunity to:

  • Foster a love for History and support students in reaching their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the school’s academic and pastoral community.
  • Teach within a safe, supportive, and ambitious school environment.

You will work closely with the History Department and wider school community to:

  • Plan and deliver challenging, engaging lessons tailored to all abilities.
  • Form a positive learning environment where students feel safe, motivated, and valued.
  • Develop students’ critical thinking, analytical skills, and historical knowledge.
  • Monitor progress through effective assessment and feedback and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Contribute to school enrichment programmes and collaboratively improve teaching practices.
  • Uphold the school’s values of Honesty, Faith, and Courage.
