About the Role
King’s Academy Ringmer seeks an **enthusiastic and committed Teacher of History to join us on a fixed-term basis as maternity cover. This role is designed to:
- Inspire young people’s love for History
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning
- Support student progress and aspiration
- Foster a positive, inclusive and challenging learning environment
Place: King’s Academy Ringmer, Lewes Road, Ringmer, East Sussex BN8 5RB
Key Responsibilities
You will collaborate with the History Department and colleagues across school to:
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that challenge and inspire learners of all abilities
- Develop critical thinking and analytical skills, aligning with curriculum requirements
- Create a safe, supportive classroom where students thrive in behaviour, participation and achievement
- Use assessment and clear feedback to track progress and adapt teaching
- Contribute to enrichment opportunities and work with colleagues to enhance teaching practices
- Embrace the Trust’s values of Honesty, Faith and Courage
- Promote inclusion, wellbeing and high aspirations for students

- Passionate and reflective teachers of History with a strong subject knowledge base
- Committed to high-quality teaching and learning and developing students’ curiosity for the past
- Experienced in planning and delivering supportive yet challenging lessons for a diverse ability range
- Able to use assessment data to improve student outcomes
- Skilled at building positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents
