Teacher of History – Maternity Cover (Fixed-Term, Full-Time, 32.5 hrs/week)

Hours and Post Type

  • Hours: 32.5 per week
  • Pattern: Full-time
  • Fixed-term for: Maternity cover

About the Role

King’s Academy Ringmer seeks an **enthusiastic and committed Teacher of History to join us on a fixed-term basis as maternity cover. This role is designed to:

  • Inspire young people’s love for History
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning
  • Support student progress and aspiration
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and challenging learning environment

Place: King’s Academy Ringmer, Lewes Road, Ringmer, East Sussex BN8 5RB

Key Responsibilities

You will collaborate with the History Department and colleagues across school to:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that challenge and inspire learners of all abilities
  • Develop critical thinking and analytical skills, aligning with curriculum requirements
  • Create a safe, supportive classroom where students thrive in behaviour, participation and achievement
  • Use assessment and clear feedback to track progress and adapt teaching
  • Contribute to enrichment opportunities and work with colleagues to enhance teaching practices
  • Embrace the Trust’s values of Honesty, Faith and Courage
  • Promote inclusion, wellbeing and high aspirations for students
