John Taylor MAT,

Teacher required to commence as soon as possible to cover maternity leave (permanent post available from September 2027)

Permanent, Full Time Role

Salary: MS1 – UPS3: £32,916 - £51,048 per annum

Rugeley John Taylor School, part of John Taylor MAT, is proud to be growing the only ‘all-through’ school within our Trust family. Having opened our doors to our first cohort of Year 7 students in September 2025, we are continuing to build a school that will serve local communities from the earliest years right through to Sixth Form, offering a ‘gold standard’ learning experience. As we expand, we continue to embed the core features of John Taylor MAT that have become a hallmark of its success and are looking for talented and committed teachers to join us on the next stage of our journey and development.

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Mathematics to commence as soon as possible, who will work closely with the founding teaching team, the Executive Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher, to continue to build an inspiring curriculum and deliver a quality first learning experience. To allow our recruitment to be staggered, additional vacancies will be advertised later in the academic year.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
