About The Role

This is a full-time position starting this September, perfect for an enthusiastic and dedicated Mathematics specialist. You will:

  • Teach Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum fostering deep analytical reasoning and numerical fluency

Key Requirements

  • Qualification: QTS, QTLS, or equivalent UK teaching credential
  • DBS: Valid Enhanced DBS check registered with the Update Service (or a firm commitment to obtain it immediately)
  • Curriculum Expertise: Up-to-date knowledge of current educational frameworks and core GCSE specifications (e.g., Pearson Edexcel, AQA)
  • Right to Work: Valid legal authorisation to work full-time in the UK

✅ Advanced Subject Literacy – Proficiency in algebra, geometry, ratio, and statistics within the UK National Curriculum ✅ Proactive Behaviour Management – Ability to foster a structured, focused classroom with positive reinforcement ✅ Adaptive Teaching – Tailoring lessons for diverse learning needs, stretching high-achievers, and supporting SEND and EAL pupils ✅ Progress Tracking – Analysing student data to identify misconceptions and implement targeted interventions ✅ Formative Feedback – Expertise in live marking, questioning, and verbal feedback for pupil development ✅ Interpersonal Communication – Clarifying abstract concepts for students, families, and colleagues with exceptional clarity

Responsibilities

Instructional Leadership

  • Plan, structure, and deliver high-calibre, engaging Mathematics lessons for all learners
  • Align assessments with school assessment policies

Student Progress & Safeguarding

  • Evaluate, record, and report on academic growth, attainment, and effort
  • Recognise underachieving students and implement fast interventions to improve GCSE outcomes

Pastoral Care & Collaboration

  • Serve as a Form Tutor, delivering compassionate pastoral support and promoting holistic well-being
  • Engage in parents’ consultative evenings, departmental briefings, and whole-school training

Professional Development

  • Reflect on best practices and commit to continuous professional growth
  • Champion Trust-wide policies, particularly safeguarding and student welfare
