About us:
We are seeking an innovative and outstanding Female Teacher of Physical Education for a Maternity Cover from October 2026 (or earlier for the right candidate). The successful candidate will be required to teach all abilities across KS3 and KS4 to the highest standard and to make a positive difference to academy life. You must be able to use a range of teaching strategies to inspire and motivate our students and demonstrate a commitment to sharing best practice with colleagues in the department. We are looking for a passionate teacher who brings their subject to life. A willingness to support the Academy ethos and support of extra-curricular activities within the PE department is essential.
Experience of teaching Football / Netball would be an advantage but not essential. Applications from NQT's are welcome.
Oasis Academy Mayfield is a fantastic place to learn and work. Our last Ofsted visit was in April 2024, where we were judged to be 'Good' in all areas, since then we believe that we have moved yet closer to our aim to become the exceptional school our community deserves. We are excited to welcome applications from future colleagues who share our enthusiasm for education and dedication to transforming the community we live in and serve. We value strong relationships with our parents and carers, and know that through working closely together it is ultimately our young people who benefit.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
