About the Role
In the heart of Newham, East London, an 'Outstanding' Secondary School is seeking an ambitious Teacher of Physics / Science Teacher to join them for a September 2026 start—the role is permanent and full-time.
The Head Teacher is looking for a dedicated professional who can contribute to the growth of the expanding Science Department. Known for their supportive Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and impressive Progress 8 results, the school is committed to innovative teaching practices, staff development, and training.
It’s an exciting time at the school, with plenty of opportunities for collaborative and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspire and motivate the next generation of learners in Physics / Science.
- Collaborate with a team of fantastic Science Teachers.
- TLR Opportunities available for experienced teachers, including:
- KS3 Coordinator
- Pastoral Responsibilities
- Support for Early Career Teachers (ECTs), including:
- 1:1 mentoring
- A bespoke NQT induction programme
- In-house and external training

Requirements
✅ Must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be actively obtaining it.
✅ Strong academic background (Degree, A-Levels, and GCSEs expected).
✅ Demonstrates level of teaching excellence aligned with the 8 Teaching Standards (rated as Good or Outstanding).
✅ Ability to work effectively as part of a team within the Science Department.
✅ Willing commitment to reading and implementing feedback.

Benefits & Opportunities

- Salary range: MPS1 – UPS3 (£42,200 – £63,015) + TLR (dependent on experience).
