Teacher of Physics / Science Teacher

Location: In the heart of Wandsworth Contract: Permanent and full-time Start Date: September 2026

The Head Teacher is seeking an ambitious Teacher of Physics / Science Teacher to join an expanding Science Department at this 'Outstanding' Secondary School.

About the Role

The school is committed to setting new teaching practices, training staff, and delivering impressive results. There are exciting opportunities, including:

  • Taking on role-based responsibilities, such as KS3 Coordinator or Pastoral Responsibility (subject to prior experience and preference)
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) supported through the school’s bespoke ECT induction programme, with mentorship and training offered both internally and externally
  • Membership of a dynamic and supportive Science Faculty
  • Inspiring and motivating the next generation

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Physics teaching and/or core Science delivery to diverse student groups.
  • Meet rigorous Teaching Standards to a Good or Outstanding level.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork and collaboration within the growing science faculty.
  • Show willingness to embrace feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Availability for interviews and lesson observations at short notice.

Salaried Annuum: • MPS1-UPS3 - £42,200 - £63,015 + • Possible Telesum Lotus allowances (Size depending on experience)

Requirements

  • Must possess UK QTS, or be about to gain qualification.
  • Hold a science-specialist degree with strong achievements in A-Levels and GCSEs in Science-related subjects.
  • Commitment to meeting the Teaching Standards (statutory)
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based environment and willingness to integrate in new procedures proactively.
