The Opportunity

Are you passionate about sharing your subject expertise and helping learners succeed? Barnsley College is seeking four enthusiastic individuals to join our STEM team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong STEM subject knowledge who is ready to begin, or continue to develop, a rewarding career in further education.

Working within our Engineering department, you will support the delivery of high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of STEM programmes, helping learners develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours they need to progress into employment, apprenticeships or further study. Through effective teaching, assessment and pastoral support, you will help learners build confidence in their subject area and develop the skills they need for future success.

Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement activities, helping to ensure programmes remain current, innovative and relevant to employer needs. You will also support the integration of emerging technologies and industry developments where appropriate.

A key part of the role will involve promoting safe working practices, equality, diversity and inclusion, and creating a learning environment where learners feel supported, challenged and motivated to succeed.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
