Introduction
The Department of Corrections is focused on public safety through the custody and supervision of those in our care. The Department of Corrections is currently recruiting to fill a Teacher Supervisor position. This position is based out of Stanley Correctional Institution in Stanley, WI (Chippewa County).
Position Summary
This position functions as the Academic Education Supervisor with primary responsibility for providing direct supervision of teaching staff, Education office staff, and curriculum development.
This role oversees the establishment and maintenance of the school climate, enforcement of school rules, and implements disciplinary measures when necessary.
This position also assists in the overall operation and supervision of the facility education’s programs: develops, coordinates, manages, and evaluates a variety of other comprehensive education programs as assigned by the Education Director; assists in development and administration of the Graduation Policy; and assumes responsibility of the day-to-day operation of the Education Department in the absence of the Education Director.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule and range 81-03 with a starting pay of $40.00/hour - $46.59/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A probationary period is required.
This position may receive supplemental (add-on) pay adjustments for additional credits relevant to the position that are over and above the credits needed for certification. This add-on ranges from $0.97/hour to $2.97/hour of additional pay, based on relevant credits and professional development actions, as allowed in Section A (4.12) of the Compensation Plan.

Job Details
This position is not eligible for remote work and will work on site.
This position is FLSA Exempt.
Anticipated schedule will be Monday – Friday 7:45 AM – 4:30 PM.
This position is anticipated to share the on-call responsibilities of the Administrative Duty Officer (which rotates between staff) and will occasionally involve work on nights, weekends, and holidays during the assigned rotation.
This position may occasionally assist at other DOC worksites, but is not anticipated to travel on a regular basis. Most DOC positions occasionally travel for training, meetings, conferences, or similar events.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

Qualifications
The qualifications listed below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process and must be clearly described in the letter of qualifications and resume:
Minimally Qualified Applicants Will Have
- Experience performing supervision-related activities (e.g. assigning, directing, and/or evaluating work; disciplinary matters, hiring, providing training/mentoring, etc.).
- Experience developing curriculum or programs for high school, ABE, or CTE (Career Technical Education).
- Experience with evidence-based practices and quality improvement.
In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have:
- Experience facilitating the professional growth, development, and education of staff (e.g. mentoring, coaching, training and instructing).
- Experience interpreting and applying educational laws.

Special Requirements
Applicants must possess current licensure by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a Principal (#5051), and employees will be required to maintain licensure during employment.
