The children, staff and governors at Dronfield Infant School are looking to appoint an experienced, considerate, hardworking, motivated and enthusiastic Teaching and Learning Assistant to join our dedicated team from September 2026.

The successful candidate will work in KS1 supporting a pupil with Special Educational Needs in small groups and individually within the classroom.

This is a Fixed Term position until August 2027, subject to funding, with the potential for the post to become extended until August 2028.

The working pattern for this position is 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday and Friday, and 1.00pm - 3.40pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.

  • Has experience as a Teaching and Learning Assistant
  • Has a secure knowledge and experience of working with children with various needs including physical needs, hearing impairment, SEMH, ASD, and ADHD.
  • Is warm, friendly and understanding, and is able to form excellent relationships with children, families and staff members.
  • Has high expectations of all aspects of school life for others and for themselves.
  • Has experience of running interventions for groups of pupils in a school setting.
  • Has a strong and unwavering commitment to safeguarding children.
  • Has a sense of humour and fully supports all aspects of school life.
