Summerbank Primary Academy wish to appoint an enthusiastic Teaching and Learning Practitioner to join our hardworking and committed team.

At Summerbank we provide children with a high-quality all-round education in a vibrant, multicultural, well-resourced and creative environment. The successful candidate will:

  • Understand the principles of child development, learning processes and barriers to learning
  • Be committed to raising standards
  • Hold a relevant qualification Level 3 or above
  • Have high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour, whilst also understanding the underlying causes of behaviours that may present as challenging
  • Understand the importance of providing a nurturing approach towards vulnerable pupils
  • Be able to work as a member of a team, developing good working relationships with pupils and adults
  • Use their own initiative while working independently
  • Be able to communicate well with children, teachers and parents
  • Be able to plan and implement (under guidance) effective strategies for pupils with a range of needs (learning, language, behavioural, emotional, social needs)
  • Support all children with their learning including children with Special Educational Needs or other key groups
  • Be an excellent practitioner
  • Be adaptable and spontaneous
  • Show a willingness to contribute to wider school life
