Early Years Teaching Assistant: Lambeth September 2026

Location: Lambeth (near Clapham South)

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time Long-term (with potential to become permanent)

Pay: GBP90-GBP120 per day (dependent on experience)

Early Years Teaching Assistant: Level 3 Qualified

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking a passionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to join its Reception team from September 2026.

This Early Years Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting young children through their first year of school. The school has a well-established Early Years provision where learning through play, language development, and nurturing relationships are central to the curriculum.

Working alongside an experienced Reception Teacher, the successful Early Years Teaching Assistant will help create an engaging learning environment while supporting children's academic, social, and emotional development.

The Role

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, You Will

  • Support teaching and learning within a busy Reception classroom
  • Deliver small-group activities focusing on phonics, early literacy, and number
  • Encourage communication, independence, and positive social development
  • Help prepare stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments
  • Observe children's progress and contribute to ongoing assessment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and the wider Early Years team

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for an Early Years Teaching Assistant who:

  • Holds a Level 3 Early Years or Teaching Assistant qualification (essential)
  • Has experience working within an EYFS setting
  • Has a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Is enthusiastic, patient, and able to build strong relationships with young children
  • Is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
