Teaching Assistant (1:1 SEND) - Primary School
Location: Leicestershire (LE67)
Pay: £95-£110 per day (DOE)
Duration: Full-time | Long-term

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Leicestershire (LE67). This rewarding long-term role involves supporting a Year 2 pupil with complex special educational needs (SEND) who is currently working at EYFS level and awaiting a specialist school placement.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), SEND Support Worker or Behaviour Support Assistant with a passion for making a lasting difference to a child's education and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with complex SEND.
- Support learning activities tailored to an EYFS-level curriculum.
- Help the pupil regulate emotions using positive behaviour support strategies.
- Provide personal care with dignity and compassion when required.
- Support the pupil throughout the school day, including lunchtime.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to implement individual support plans.
- Promote the pupil's academic, social and emotional development.

Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with SEND, including complex needs.
- Experience providing personal care within an educational or care setting.
- Confident supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs or behaviours that may challenge.
- A calm, patient and resilient approach.
- Flexible, proactive and committed to achieving positive outcomes.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable
- TeamTeach, PRICE or other positive behaviour management training.
- Experience working within a primary school, SEN school, alternative provision or specialist setting.
