Learning Support Assistant: ARB Lambeth September 2026

Location: Lambeth (near Brixton)

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time Long-term (with potential to become permanent)

Pay: GBP100-GBP120 per day (dependent on experience)

Learning Support Assistant: Specialist ARB Opportunity

A highly inclusive primary school in Lambeth is looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within its Additional Resource Base (ARB) from September 2026.

This rewarding Learning Support Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with complex additional needs, including Autism, speech and language needs and associated learning difficulties. The ARB provides a structured, nurturing environment where pupils receive personalised support while accessing appropriate opportunities within the mainstream school.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will become part of an experienced specialist team, working alongside teachers, therapists and the SENCO to help pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

The Role

As a Learning Support Assistant, You Will

  • Support pupils within the ARB throughout the school day
  • Deliver structured one-to-one and small-group learning activities
  • Promote communication, independence and emotional regulation
  • Adapt resources to meet individual EHCP targets
  • Support pupils during integration into mainstream lessons where appropriate
  • Work closely with teachers and external professionals to monitor progress

The Ideal Candidate

The school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who:

  • Has experience supporting pupils with Autism or complex SEND
  • Understands the importance of routine, consistency and positive behaviour support
  • Is patient, resilient and able to build trusting relationships
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Is passionate about helping every child achieve their potential

Experience within an ARB, specialist provision or SEN school would be highly advantageous but is not essential.
