Old Buckenham Primary School is a much-loved one-form entry rural community school in the heart of Norfolk. We serve children from Reception through to Year 6, focusing on nurturing the whole child: intellectually, emotionally, physically, creatively, and morally. Our motto, Inspiring learning for life, underpins everything we do. We are proud of our strong community links, supportive staff, and the inclusive, caring environment we offer to all.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated and supportive team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils learning, wellbeing and development, while working closely with families. Working under the direction of the Head of School (Inclusion Leader), you will help ensure that every child is supported to thrive and achieve their full potential. We are looking for someone with a positive, proactive can-do attitude, an excellent communicator, a colleague who is flexible and welcomes the fact that two days are never the same and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families. A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school is essential. Above all, you will be a positive role model who is patient, calm, confident, and consistent, with the ability to encourage, motivate, and inspire pupils to succeed.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
