EYFS Teaching Assistant: Lambeth
Location: Lambeth (near Clapham South)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time Long-term (with the opportunity to become permanent)
Pay: GBP95-GBP115 per day (dependent on experience)
EYFS Teaching Assistant: Join a Nurturing Early Years Team
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Lambeth is seeking an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant to join its Early Years team from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who enjoys supporting young children at the beginning of their educational journey. The school places a strong emphasis on learning through play, language development, and creating a stimulating environment where every child feels safe, valued, and ready to learn.
Working alongside an experienced Reception teacher, the successful EYFS Teaching Assistant will help deliver engaging learning activities while supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development.
The Role
As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, You Will
- Support teaching and learning within the Reception classroom
- Deliver small-group activities focused on early literacy, phonics, and number skills
- Encourage communication, independence, and positive social interaction
- Help prepare engaging indoor and outdoor learning environments
- Observe pupil progress and contribute to assessment where appropriate
- Work closely with teachers and parents to support children's development

The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant who:
- Has experience working within an EYFS setting or primary school
- Understands child-led learning and the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
- Is patient, energetic, and highly organized
- Builds positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Is committed to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
