Full Job Description

Teaching Assistant – Permanent Position

Essential Details

  • Job title: Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Dibden Park School, Dibden Park, Southampton, SO45 5TD
  • Salary: £23,638.00 per annum (not pro rata)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8:30am – 4:30pm
  • Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • UK applicants only; no sponsorship available

Interview Process

  • Face-to-face interviews, including in-class work with students
  • Applicants should allow 3 hours for the interview process

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a crucial role in:

  • Supporting pupils’ learning, personal development, and emotional wellbeing
  • Working alongside teachers to deliver engaging, inclusive, and inspiring lessons
  • Providing one-to-one and small-group support, tailored to individual needs
  • Encouraging confidence, resilience, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Preparing resources and helping create stimulating learning environments
  • Supporting indoor, outdoor, and enrichment activities
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
  • Contributing to a collaborative school culture where every pupil can succeed
