Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Manor House School, Slinfold, Horsham, RH13 0QX
Hours: 40 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Salary: £23,638.00 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

At Manor House School, no two days are the same. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll play a vital role in helping children and young people overcome challenges, build confidence and celebrate achievements they never thought possible.
Whether it's helping a pupil engage in learning for the first time, supporting them to regulate their emotions, or celebrating a breakthrough moment, you'll be making a genuine difference every single day.

What You'll Be Doing
- Support pupils in class, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis to help them engage, achieve and grow.
- Work alongside teachers to deliver creative, personalised learning that meets individual needs.
- Build trusted relationships that help pupils feel safe, valued and confident.
- Encourage independence, communication, emotional wellbeing and social development.
- Promote positive behaviour using nurturing and consistent approaches.
- Support educational visits, enrichment activities and wider school life.
- Record pupil progress and work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral colleagues to celebrate successes and overcome challenges.
- Help create a safe, inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

What you will bring
You don't need years of SEN experience—we're looking for the right person. You'll ideally have:
- GCSE Grade 4/C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
- Patience, empathy and resilience, even during challenging moments.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- The ability to build trusting relationships and inspire confidence.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Driving licence required
