Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant for Autism Support

Full Time Role: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM Location: Excellent Harrow SEND School

Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, your core duties include:

  • Collaborating with class teachers to raise learning and attainment.
  • Promoting independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion among pupils.
  • Supporting pupils, individually or in small groups, to ensure full curriculum access, engagement, and a sense of achievement.
  • Assisting with lesson planning, preparation, and resource allocation.
  • Adopting relevant teaching strategies to support the teacher’s work and enhance the learning of students, including those with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
  • Facilitating inclusion through equal participation in learning and extracurricular activities.
  • Applying effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
  • Maintaining order, discipline, and a safe learning environment.
  • Organising and managing physical spaces and resources to create an inspiring and safe classroom.
