Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant, your core duties include:
- Collaborating with class teachers to raise learning and attainment.
- Promoting independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion among pupils.
- Supporting pupils, individually or in small groups, to ensure full curriculum access, engagement, and a sense of achievement.
- Assisting with lesson planning, preparation, and resource allocation.
- Adopting relevant teaching strategies to support the teacher’s work and enhance the learning of students, including those with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).
- Facilitating inclusion through equal participation in learning and extracurricular activities.
- Applying effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.
- Maintaining order, discipline, and a safe learning environment.
- Organising and managing physical spaces and resources to create an inspiring and safe classroom.
