About the School: Luxborough Court – A Purpose-Built Learning Environment
Witherslack Group takes pride in delivering education in world-class settings. Luxborough Court School serves 150 pupils aged 5–19 with extensive resources to enhance learning, invited self-expression, and invite individuality.

Key Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant in this specialised environment, you’ll:
- Provide one-on-one and group support for children with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
- Help develop academic, social, and life skills while fostering self-confidence and emotional resilience
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of teachers, counselling therapists, speech and language therapists, and behavioural specialists to implement personalised programmes
- Promote nurturing, high-quality relationships to foster a sense of safety and belonging
- Encourage personal achievements, large and small—our "huge small victories"—celebrating efforts that contribute to progress
- Help to provide daily structure around fun, exploratory learning and engaged, achievable challenges
- Monitor progress against learning outcomes and support collaborative sessions evaluating support needs
- Return to training if required (based on professional development plans) in line with company models
Requirements for the Role
Essential Criteria
✅ Genuine enthusiasm to:
- Enable success for SEND pupils, bridging gaps between potential and self-belief
- Work constructively with multidisciplinary education teams (therapists, senior teaching staff) ✅ Patience and adaptability to:
- Navigate challenges in boardroom-like or classroom-like settings, sharing care and fascination for mark-making, conversation-building, and life precision tasks
✅ Ability to support a pupil’s transition through different mediums with confidence—whether that is art-based, music-based—or sports physio-structured interventions

✅ Core skills: Reading comprehension and written communication are a must to consolidate notes, observe progress, and contribute actively to personal education plans.
Experience & Qualifications Preferred
✔ Experience working in supportive or educational environments with children or young people (prior teaching assistant roles, nursery settings, therapy teams, or care settings would be advantageous) ✔ Understanding of SEND-specific needs or formal disaster plan experience would be highly beneficial, but is not prerequisite—training will be provided ✔ Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification, Level 6 Diploma in SEN, or any post-secondary credentials supporting SEND-care considered a bonus
