Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs (SEN) School, Surbiton

Responsibilities

As part of a close-knit team, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support tailored to pupils with special educational needs.
  • Assist teachers with lesson design, classroom routines, and managing behaviour.
  • Help develop communication, independence, and emotional resilience among students.
  • Foster strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Create a nurturing, safe environment while supporting children (including those with autism, ADHD, or learning delays).
  • Collaborate to adapt resources and materials to meet individual learning needs.

Requirements

We’re looking for:

  • No experience is necessary—applying candidates should have:
    • A caring, patient demeanour and an commitment to proactive engagement with pupils.
    • Strong communication skills to work effectively in a team.
    • A genuine desire to help children with additional needs thrive and grow.
