Teaching Assistant
Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Level 3)
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Grade 6 SP18-20 - £29,420 - £30,298 (per annum - actual pro-rata salary)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, 39 weeks per year - term time
Contract: Permanent
Horsenden Primary School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, experienced and proactive Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to join our welcoming and inclusive school community. This post will initially be based in EYFS, but may be deployed to other year groups in the future.
If you're a skilled and compassionate practitioner, ready to make a real difference to children’s learning, development and wellbeing—especially those with additional needs—this could be the ideal next step in your career.
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking someone who is:
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an education or childcare-related subject.
- Passionate about children's learning, development and inclusive education.
- Experienced in supporting children’s learning, behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Knowledgeable about child development, early reading and effective classroom practice.
- Committed to working as part of a team and open to professional growth.
- Comfortable supporting outdoor learning, play-based provision and personal care when needed.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who have experience supporting pupils with SEND and promoting inclusion.
Your Role:
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with class teachers to plan and deliver high-quality learning for individuals, small groups and whole classes.
- Deliver targeted interventions and contribute to assessment and next steps planning.
- Take a lead on classroom preparation, display work and administrative support.
- Build strong relationships with children, families and, where necessary, external professionals.
