Teaching Assistant Vacancies – Gorseland Primary School

About the Role
Gorseland Primary School is seeking Teaching Assistants (TAs) for roles across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
With three vacancies available, we are looking for enthusiastic, dedicated individuals who share our mission to foster a love of learning and support children’s achievement and well-being.
We are an inclusive two-form entry primary with a Nursery and specialist units. Our community embraces ready, respectful, and safe values to nurture self-confident, hardworking, and resilient learners.
Roles include:
- Supporting children in class
- Leading small-group interventions
- Ensuring all pupils achieve their potential
Available Positions
Position 1: Teaching Assistant (KS1)
- Hours: 8.30 am – 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday, 32.5/week, 38/year
Position 2: KS2 Teaching Assistant
- Hours: 8.30 am – 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday, 32.5/week, 38/year

Position 3: KS2 Teaching Assistant (Mondays only – afternoons)
- Hours: 12 pm – 3.30 pm, Monday to Friday, 17.5/week, 38/year
Key Responsibilities
- Assist classroom teachers with lesson planning and implementation
- Support small-group and individual learning interventions
- Engage children in activities that enhance their academic, social, and emotional development
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and safeguarding compliance
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies
Job Requirements
To apply, you must meet the following criteria:
- GCSE Grades A-C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
- Recent, relevant experience working with children in an educational setting
- Ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse stakeholders
- Strong patience, kindness, and high expectations for both children and staff
