Temporary Teaching Assistant Role – Ravensmead Primary School
Term Duration: Temporary, 3 terms in the first instance (Term Time) Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM (15 hours per week) Start Date: 1st September 2026 Closing Date: 12 noon, Wednesday 15th July Salary: £25,989 FTE (Grade 4 Scale, point 6) | £9,103 pro rata
About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to work closely with a child who requires tailored support in our school community.
Key Responsibilities
The Teaching Assistant will:
- Support classroom teachers to meet the individual needs of the child.
- Deliver 1:1 tailored support and facilitates small group work where beneficial to the child’s progress.
- Differentiate and adapt daily learning activities to ensure access to a highly personalised curriculum.
- Work flexibly to address the child’s evolving needs as outlined in their Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).
- Collaborate with:
- Class teachers
- The SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) – External support agencies
- Implement best-practice strategies in conjunction with external professionals.
- Build positive relationships with parents, ensuring engagement and welcoming participation.
- Ensure safeguarding compliance for all children and vulnerable individuals.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Hold (or pursuing) a Level 3 Diploma for Teachings Assistants (or recognised equivalent).
- Ideal candidates will have:
- Prior training in language, communication and interaction (LCI) or neurodiverse support techniques.
- Experience delivering personalised support for children with additional needs.

Work Pattern
- Required to work Monday–Friday per school term (as specified by the child’s EHCP).
