Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship – Chalkwell Hall Junior School

Salary: £8 per hour (progressive to National Minimum Wage after 12 months completion)

Working hours:
- Monday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
- Tuesday: 7:30 am – 3:00 pm
- Wednesday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Thursday: 9:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Friday: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm
- Total: **32 hours per week (term-time only, 25 hours in class, 7 hours at Our Conkers Breakfast and After School Club)

Apprenticeship Overview:
- Duration: 16 months (assigned to complete Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification).
- Training Delivery: Online/remote via LMP Education, a nationally-rated 1st best UK training provider.
- Key to developing both classroom and academic support expertise.
About the Role
You will support the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Extended School Clubs Manager, and Teachers by performing non-teaching tasks, working across multiple areas to enhance classroom practice and child welfare.

Support for Pupils
- Independently assist with individual children or small groups in social and academic curriculum activities under teacher guidance.
- Meet children’s personal needs, including social/health training, emotional support, and basic first aid.
- Bolster children’s confidence in learning through structured engagement.
Support for Teacher(s) and Extended School Club Manager
- Assist with preparation and maintenance of teaching resources, aides, and apparatus.
- Engage in curriculum reinforcement and supervised playtime activities.
- Act as a liaison between students, teachers, and families during planned lessons and events.
Support for the School
- Supervise children in extracurricular setting (outdoor education, dining areas, playfields, etc.).
- Uphold strict confidentiality and school policies during all work-related interactions.
Curriculum Inclusion and Beyond
- Participate in special educational needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL) integration activities where relevant.
- Follow Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, Inclusion Manager, or Teacher directives to ensure dynamic and relevant classroom support.
Requirements
- Hold GCSE qualifications in English & Maths at grade C/4 or higher.
- Demonstrate:

- Clear communication (both written and verbal)
