St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School
St. Osmund’s C.E. Middle School is an over-subscribed Middle School for Years 5 - 8, located in the thriving county town of Dorchester. The school is proudly part of the Wessex Multi Academy Trust and is Ofsted Good in all areas (2022). The school was recently SIAMS inspected and received a strong report (2026).
We are a Church of England School built upon the Christian values of hope, community, respect and love.
We Are Seeking a Teaching Assistant
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and motivated Teaching Assistant to support children in the classroom with various needs to start on the 1st September.
This role may involve general classroom support across all curriculum areas for both Key Stages. At the moment we have a particular need for candidates to have experience or knowledge of working with children with SEND. This may include 1:1 support to several children as well as small group intervention work. Duties will also include supporting break and lunchtime sessions in school.

Requirements
- Candidates must have a good standard of English and Maths.
Role Details
- The role is for a fixed term up to August 2027.
- The contracted hours will be 29 hours per week, 8:45-15:15 Monday - Friday. Term-time only (38 weeks).
