About The Teaching Assistant Role

The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with classroom teachers and the SEN team, supporting students both in and out of lessons.

This Teaching Assistant Role Will Involve

  • Supporting students across KS3 and KS4
  • Working with students with Special Educational Needs
  • Providing classroom and small group support
  • Helping students remain engaged and make good progress
  • Working closely with teachers and the wider inclusion team
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff
  • Supporting a calm, purposeful learning environment

The Successful Teaching Assistant Will Have

  • Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role
  • Previous experience supporting students with SEND
  • Ideally, experience working within a secondary school
  • The confidence to support secondary-aged students both academically and pastorally
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • The ability to work effectively alongside teachers
  • A reliable, professional, and positive attitude
  • Full-time availability and the commitment to a long-term role
  • The ability to travel to Redbridge each day
