Your Responsibilities

The Teaching Assistant (TA) plays a crucial role in:

  • Working in partnership with teachers to enhance students' learning, attainment, independence, and self-esteem.
  • Promoting social inclusion and ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • Supporting students to develop confidence, participation, and a sense of achievement.
  • Helping students achieve their full potential.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (or a willingness to work towards it).
  • A strong understanding of pupil learning needs and relevant pedagogy.
  • Patience, empathy, calmness, and adaptability when engaging with diverse students and challenging situations.
  • The ability to build trust and rapport with young people.
  • The ability to engage, inspire, and enthuse students to foster a love of learning.

Additionally:

  • Commitment to safeguarding and ability to align with Lift Schools’ safeguarding policies.
  • Willingness to undergo Enhanced DBS and references checks.
