Teaching Assistant: Year 5 Interventions: September 2026: Haringey Primary School
A welcoming and well-established Primary School in Haringey, North London is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their KS2 team from September 2026. The school is holding trial days during the first week back, making this an excellent opportunity to secure your role before the new academic year gets underway.
This Teaching Assistant position will see you working predominantly within a Year 5 class, delivering targeted Maths, English, and Phonics interventions to pupils who require additional support. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher to help raise attainment and build pupils' confidence ahead of Year 6.
The school is looking for a proactive Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with children in small groups and is passionate about making a measurable difference to pupils' academic progress.
Teaching Assistant Responsibilities
- Delivering Maths interventions as a Teaching Assistant
- Leading English intervention sessions as a Teaching Assistant
- Supporting pupils with Phonics as a Teaching Assistant
- Working with small groups of Year 5 pupils as a Teaching Assistant
- Monitoring pupil progress alongside the class teacher
- Encouraging confidence and independence as a Teaching Assistant
- Helping to create an engaging learning environment
- Supporting the wider KS2 team as a Teaching Assistant
