Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistants (Grade 3 – SCP 5-6)

Location: Outwood Academy Newbold, Newbold, Chesterfield


Positions Available

  • Position 1: 27 hours and 30 minutes per week, 39 weeks per year – £16,319.41 to £16,578.40
  • Position 2: 34 hours, 39 weeks per year – £20,176.73 to £20,496.93

Start Date: September 2026


About the Role

Outwood Academy Newbold is seeking two Teaching Assistants to support students of varying needs in mainstream curriculum lessons and specialised interventions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual or small-group support to students, including those with additional needs
  • Supporting the Inclusion Team in a flexible, dynamic school setting
  • Working closely with teachers to create a positive learning climate and enhance student attainment
  • Demonstrating the ability to engage with vulnerable students appropriately
  • Contributing to policies and initiatives that ensure all students thrive intellectually, socially, and emotionally

Key Requirements

  • Experience (or willingness to learn) in supporting students with varying abilities or needs in a school environment.
  • Ability to work flexibly with vulnerable students, acting with compassion, professionalism, and adaptability.
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Completion of all enhanced DBS checks (mandatory for the role).
  • Competency in leadership and mentorship — ability to guide students towards personal and academic growth.
