Year Two Teaching Assistant — Garden Village Primary Academy
About the Role
Fierté Multi-Academy Trust is seeking to appoint a reflective, creative, and enthusiastic Year Two teaching assistant to join its new 210-place free school, Garden Village Academy, opening in September 2024.
The successful candidate will:
- Work within a mutually supportive team that is passionate about providing high-quality education

- Collaborate closely with the Headteacher to deliver an enriched Year Two learning journey

Garden Village Academy currently offers Nursery and Years 1–2 (Reception)", growing annually to support up to Year 6. The academy is set within a beautiful natural environment featuring state-of-the-art facilities and enhanced outdoor learning spaces.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate must embody the following commitments:
- Support every child in receiving the best possible learning experience
- Provide excellence in learner support, helping pupils develop knowledge, skills, and understanding
- Foster high aspirations for all children, ensuring every lesson is purposeful, engaging, and high-calibre
- Demonstrate strong KS1 experience, with a:
- Secure understanding of KS1 curriculum expectations
- Ability to effectively prepare pupils for SATs
- Confidently deliver:
- Targeted interventions
- In-class support
- Reading, writing, and mathematics development
- Strategies to boost confidence and independence among pupils
- Commit to continuous professional learning and school improvement
- Alignment with Garden Village’s mission: "enable limitless possibilities"
- Uphold the safeguarding policy in line with local authority and DBS requirements

Requirements
- Qualified or aspiring teaching professional with a passion for education
- Excellence in KS1 support, particularly within Year 2
- Strong pedagogical knowledge and practice
- Demonstrated ability to individualise teaching to cater for differing needs
- Experience in intervention strategies and differentiated learning
- Reliable, resilient, and committed to collective improvement
