Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant – Queenswood School

Queenswood School is recruiting for a Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant to join our education team! We are looking for versatile, resilient, yet committed people who can adapt their practice to support students effectively across all key stages. The successful candidate will assist children with their work, support pupil behaviour, establish strong relationships, act as a role model, and address individual needs.

About Queenswood School

Queenswood School in Ledbury, Herefordshire, is an independent, specialist school nestled in a peaceful rural setting. We provide education and care for children and young people aged 11–19, who face social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and a range of additional needs. These may include:

  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Attachment disorders
  • ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder)
  • PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)
  • Moderate and Specific Learning Difficulties (MLD/SpLD)
  • Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC)

Role Overview

You will provide crucial support in:

  • Assisting children across all key stages in their learning tasks
  • Contributing to positive behaviour management
  • Building trustworthy and empowering relationships
  • Acting as a role model while addressing specific psychological, emotional, or behavioural challenges

Notes & Necessary Qualifications

  • Full, valid UK driving licence (off-site work may be required)
  • Willingness to undergo rigorous safeguarding checks, including UK DBS clearance and completed references for the last three years (including where relevant, children or vulnerable adult experience).
