Teaching Assistant
SEN School, Brockenhurst / Lymington area
Full-time, Temp to Perm Contract - September start!
Academics are seeking an experienced and engaging Teaching Assistant to join an SEN School in the New Forest area in between Brockenhurst and Lymington. This is a full-time, temporary to permanent contract starting in September.
Working hours are 8.30am - 4.30pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30am - 4pm on a Friday. This is a term-time role working 39 weeks of the year, paying £14.24 per hour.
You must have a C/4 of above in your English and Maths GCSE to be considered for the role. Evidence of this must be provided.
The school caters for pupils aged 7-19 years who are diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome and other associated needs on the autistic spectrum. You will be required to support pupils across the school in small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

The suitable Teaching Assistant will have experience of supporting children with special educational needs, ideally within an SEN environment. You will be empathetic, nurturing, be able to manage varying levels of challenging behavior and have the ability to think on your feet and adapt to situations.
This is a challenging environment to work in, but also very rewarding. Children who attend this school do display various levels of challenging behavior combined with other complex needs. This role is suited to someone who enjoys the variation of working in this type of environment and with a passion and love for working with and supporting children with special educational needs.
