- Full-time (SCP4 A to SCP6 A): £25,185 – £25,989 per annum
- Pro rata: £17,821 – £18,723 per annum

The Role
Stradbroke caters to students of all abilities within its local community, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). With an increasing number of students requiring additional support, the school is expanding its Teaching Assistant (TA) team.

The successful candidate will predominantly work in the classroom, assisting pupils in accessing learning. They may also support small group interventions and provide tailored educational support.
A key part of the role involves collaborating with the SEND department, which plays a critical role in student success. Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate commitment to extracurricular opportunities such as school trips or qualifications in first aid.
General Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the SENDCo, teaching staff, or other senior leaders, support pupils—including those with SEND—in accessing learning.
- Assist in pupil management, classroom organisation, and the implementation of targeted interventions.
- Maintain the school’s ethos of academic rigor and pastoral care.

Personal Competencies Required for a Teaching Assistant
- Pupil-centred approach, ensuring the best interests of students are always prioritised.
- Ability to operate with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with statutory regulations and school policies.
- Confidentiality—handling sensitive information responsibly.
- Teamwork skills and contribution to a positive workplace environment.
Experience & Qualifications
Mandatory:
- A minimum grade C / 4 (or equivalent) in GCSE English and Maths (excluding roles for cleaners, catering staff, or exam invigilators).
- Previous experience working with children or in a classroom setting is highly desirable.
