Teaching Assistant – Breaside Preparatory School (Bromley, Kent)

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Breaside Preparatory School. This permanent, part-time role will begin in September 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe, secure, and stimulating learning environment for children.
- Support pupils’ learning and development, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), in both group and individual settings.
- Work within Primary Stage Curriculum standards, assisting with planning and delivering activities in:
- Maths
- Literacy
- Help pupils of all ability levels reach their full potential, monitoring progress and adapting lessons in collaboration with teachers and SENCOs.
- Contribute to pupil achievement plans.
- Foster engagement in learning, encouraging high expectations, self-esteem, and independence.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model and tailoring support to individual needs.

Who We Are Looking For:
- An experienced Teaching Assistant with a Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grade A–C) required.
- Previous school experience preferred.
- Experience supporting KS1 and KS2 English and Maths.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with teachers, pupils, and parents.
- A calm, professional, nurturing approach, especially when working sensitively with children and adults.
- Excellent organisation skills and teamwork abilities.
- Intermediate IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office.
