Thornton College is a leading independent Catholic day and boarding school for girls set within 27 acres of beautiful parkland just outside Buckingham and within easy reach of Milton Keynes and conveniently located between Oxford & Cambridge.

Description

For September 2026, we are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant, (Monday-Friday), term time only. The role will include Lunchtime and After School Supervision. A level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential.

Our 2024 CSI Inspection judged the school to be ‘Outstanding’ in all areas and our most recent (2025) ISI Inspection commented positively on the ‘rapid’ academic progress made by students across the school and the ‘high levels of self-esteem and self-confidence' evident in the student body. We are accredited by both NACE and the British Council (International Schools Award) and in 2025 was shortlisted as Independent Girls School of the Year. The successful candidate can be sure of working with a team of extremely dedicated staff in a very motivating, forward-thinking school environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
