Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary/Benefits:
- Annual salary: £25,585–£30,915 (Pro-Rata), DOE and Qualifications

About the Role
We are seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join the English and Maths department at the Bedford College Group, providing essential support to students (primarily GCSE and Functional Skills learners).
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom & Learning Support
- Provide in-class assistance during lesson delivery, activities, and resource preparation.
- Support delivery of teaching strategies tailored to varied learner needs.
Learner Support & Inclusion
- Assist students with additional needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Offer small-group or 1:1 support to build learners’ confidence, independence, and engagement.
Progress Monitoring & Assessment
- Help with assessment planning, tracking, recording, and progress reporting in collaboration with teaching staff.

About You (Requirements)

Qualifications & Background:
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) required.
- Eligible Level 3 qualification in English or Maths (or ability to complete this).
- Must possess a valid enhanced DBS clearance.

Experience:
- Prior teaching support in education, preferably with learners on GCSE/Functional Skills programmes.

Essential Skills:
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Basic IT proficiency to support digital learning.
