Working under the overall supervision of the Class Teacher, you will provide one to one support and small group interventions for pupils with a variety of needs, supporting them in their individual learning plans and encouraging them to gain confidence in their independence. With experience of working with children who have complex learning and SEMH needs, you will address individual learning and language needs, develop skills to promote independence and the development of self esteem, and encourage individual pupils to interact and engage in activities. As an advocate for your pupils, you will share their achievements with the school community and will help to communicate their needs to staff and pupils.
In addition to providing one to one support, you will also be required to assist with and support the teaching, learning and general care of pupils in our school community. Confident in working with individual pupils or groups, you will work with and supervise them under the instruction of teaching staff, adapting your approach to meet their needs. As part of a supportive and enthusiastic team, you will be a positive role model for our pupils and will ensure the safety and welfare of pupils at all times, contributing to the school’s statutory duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
