Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship – Enterprise Learning Alliance
The Enterprise Learning Alliance is an innovative school providing a stimulating, engaging, and broad curriculum across all Key Stages. Located in Thanet and Dover, the school collaborates with local educational partners to deliver individualised learning pathways for pupils aged 11-16, covering both full-time and respite education. Their pioneering outreach service further supports local schools.
We seek an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join our team. This opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about education, eager to grow professionally in a supportive environment, and committed to positively influencing students’ lives.
Apprenticeship Summary
- Salary: £8.00 per hour
- Working Hours: Mon–Fri, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (20 min break included)
- Weekly Hours: 35.5 hours
- Training: Online apprenticeship training supported by skilled tutors
- Qualification: Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship
- Location: Enterprise Learning Alliance, South Deal, Salisbury Road, Deal, Kent CT14 7QJ
The Role
Your responsibilities include:
- Providing learning and pastoral support to Key Stage 3/4 students at risk of exclusion.
- Assisting the tutor in delivering an alternative curriculum programme.
- Supporting disaffected students by addressing their educational, social, and emotional needs.
- Implementing behavioural management strategies, including reintegration support for excluded pupils.
- Collaborating in preventative interventions for students at risk of exclusion.
- Assisting with education reports, attendance tracking, and student record maintenance.
- Developing and delivering programmes focused on self-esteem, anger management, peer relationships, emotional literacy, and behavioural strategies.
- Compliance with e radiographic Opportunities Policy and health and safety regulations.

Candidate Requirements
We’re looking for an applicant who is:
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to develop
- Enjoys working with children and demonstrates a positive, supportive attitude
- Aware of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusivity principles in education
Key Skills & Experience:
- Experience in supporting Key Stage 4 students with emotional and behavioural difficulties, including off-site/vocational settings and assessment of outcomes.
- GCSEs (Grade A–C/9–4 or equivalent)* in Maths and English.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and collaboration skills to engage with schools, parents, young people, and agencies.
- Proficient in digital literacy: proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- IT skills with accurate record-keeping awareness.
- Ability to travel flexibly across different school sites.

Desirable Knowledge:
- Awareness of community-based interventions for vulnerable learners.
- Familiarity with curriculum innovation and accreditation for specialised needs.
- Understanding of diverse educational needs affecting emotional welfare and behavioural development.
