Teaching Assistant / MDSA (St Mary the Virgin VA Primary)
Hours of Work:
- Teaching Assistant: 17.5 hours
- MDSA: 5 hours
Working Pattern:
- Part-time, term-time only (39 weeks per year plus 6.05 weeks annual leave)
- Annual leave entitlement will increase after 5 years’ continuous service
- Contract: Fixed-term (until 22 July 2027)
Salary:
- Pro-rata to hours worked

About the Role:
This is an opportunity to join our small rural primary school, where enthusiasm, motivation, and teamwork are valued. The ideal candidate will:
- Support teachers and assist with small groups or individuals across the school.
- Have achieved NVQ Level 1 (or above) for Teaching Assistants or hold equivalent qualifications.
- Demonstrate a strong knowledge of and previous experience working with children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acting as a Teaching Assistant and Mid Day Supervisor Assistant.
- Contributing to a supportive and cooperative environment.
Disqualification Regulations:
- This role is covered under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018.
- The successful applicant must self-declare that they are not disqualified under these regulations.
- If disqualified, an application for a waiver must be made to Ofsted, and approval is required before employment is confirmed.
