Location: Stannard School, Dunstable

Key Responsibilities
As a Teaching Assistant at Stannard School, you will:
- Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (max. 6 pupils) to foster independence and progress
- Assist the classroom teacher during lessons, ensuring inclusive delivery and positive learning outcomes
- Report on progress/concerns and work collaboratively with other staff to meet pupils’ needs
- Supervise pupils in non-classroom settings, including extra-curricular activities, school trips, and break/lunchtime
- Contribute to lesson planning and classroom preparation
- Set and mark tasks as appropriate, encouraging self-discipline and engagement
- Develop positive relationships with pupils to nurture confidence and motivation
Requirements & Qualifications
Clear Passion for Education
- Must demonstrate a strong commitment to supporting vulnerable children and young people
Essential Skills & Experience
- Basic education qualifications (ideally A-levels), with:
- GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English Language & Mathematics
- Sound IT proficiency
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (preferred)
- Workplace or educational experience with SEMH (Special Educational Needs & Mental Health)
- Experience in behaviour management and strategies
- Additional responsibility experience (e.g., Food Hygiene, Forest School, Lunchtime Supervision, School Yoga)
