Teaching Assistant (Primary) – Gateshead

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Gateshead from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate individual who is committed to supporting young learners and helping children achieve their full potential within a positive and nurturing school environment.

The school is a well-established and highly regarded primary setting with a strong reputation for providing a caring, inclusive, and child-centred education. Staff are committed to creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning. The school works closely with families and the wider community to ensure pupils are supported both academically and personally, creating a positive atmosphere where children and staff can flourish.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider school team to support pupils across the classroom environment. You will play an important role in promoting positive behaviour, supporting engagement in learning, and helping children make positive academic, social, and emotional progress.

This role will commence in September 2026 and continue until February 2027.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning by working with individual pupils and small groups.
  • Assist class teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities.
  • Provide additional support to pupils who require help accessing classroom learning.
  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with pupils.
  • Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Encourage pupils to develop confidence, resilience, and independence.
  • Adapt learning resources and activities to meet individual pupil needs where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to support positive pupil outcomes.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
