Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Location: M8, Manchester
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (30-minute lunch break)
Pay: GBP14.25 to GBP16.65 per hour (PAYE or umbrella)
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Long-term, ongoing
Reeson Education is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in the M8 area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive in both academic and social settings.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working on a one-to-one basis with a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs, providing personalised support to help them achieve their best. At times, you will also provide group support, helping other KS2 children with interactive learning, fun activities, and sports-based sessions. The school is proud of its inclusive approach and is seeking a Teaching Assistant who is patient, proactive, and creative in their support methods.
Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with SEMH needs as their dedicated Teaching Assistant.
- Deliver small group support and assist with classroom learning across KS2.
- Encourage participation through interactive games, sports, and creative learning activities.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour management and build strong relationships with pupils.
- Help to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment as a reliable Teaching Assistant.
- Support both academic and emotional development with empathy and patience.
- Be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the class and individual pupils.

Teaching Assistant Requirements
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly with SEMH, is desirable.
- A caring, resilient, and proactive attitude.
- Ability to engage children through creativity, games, and interactive learning.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness).
- Full commitment to a long-term, full-time Teaching Assistant role.
