Teaching Assistant - Russell Group Graduates Required
A fantastic Secondary School in the Borough of Tower Hamlets is on the hunt for high-achieving Teaching Assistants for a September 2026 start. These are full-time, long-term posts running until July 2027.
The school is looking to recruit the next batch of exceptional graduates to inspire students, raise attainment, and support pupils across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
The Head Teacher is eager to find top-tier graduates who currently hold 1st Class or 2:1 degrees from Russell Group Universities, alongside strong A Levels & GCSEs. The school is particularly keen to hear from graduates who are aspiring Secondary Teachers and are looking to gain invaluable classroom experience before progressing onto teacher training.

Job Description
Teaching Assistant
Russell Group Graduate Teaching Assistant
Secondary Teaching Assistant - Subject dependent
- Range of opportunities to excel across the school within a specialist subject role
- Supporting students across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Carrying out GCSE and A Level intervention sessions
- Supporting students in class, in small groups, and on a 1:1 basis
- Helping stretch high-achieving pupils and support those working below target
- Supporting students with revision, study skills, and academic confidence
- Opportunity to support students with mild SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and Dyslexia
- Salaried Teacher Training opportunity available from September 2027 for successful candidates
- September 2026 start until July 2027
- Full-time and long-term post
- £110 - £120 per day
- Located in the Borough of Tower Hamlets
Person Specification
- Must have a 1st Class or 2:1 degree from a reputable University
- Russell Group University graduates are strongly encouraged to apply
- Strong A Levels & GCSEs across the board
- You must be an aspiring Secondary Teacher
- Must be willing to go above and beyond daily for the pupils
- Confidence, resilience, and enthusiasm are key throughout
- Must be a team player
- Strong subject knowledge within English, Maths, Science, Humanities, or a related subject is desirable
- You must be able to engage, motivate, and support students of all abilities
- A genuine passion for education, social mobility, and raising attainment
