Teaching Assistant (SEN) Level 2

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31 August 2027 Pay Grade: Grade D3 Full Time Salary: £24,796 Actual Salary: £15,402.99 (pro-rata for 26.75 hours/week) Hours: 26.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year Starting: 1 September 2026


About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, professional Teaching Assistant who specialises in Special Educational Needs (SEN). Pupils’ learning and pastoral needs will be central to this role, including supervising support, assisting teachers with implementing educational plans, and fostering a supportive learning environment in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant (SEN) who:

  • Is enthusiastic, approachable, and friendly;
  • Ensures all children feel safe, happy, and empowered to learn;
  • Creates a purposeful, orderly, and supportive learning environment;
  • Supports classroom teachers in behaviour management, aligned with the school’s Behaviour Policy);
  • Demonstrates expertise in addressing challenging behaviour with respect and understanding;
  • Embraces a Church and Trust school ethos and upholds its values;
  • Develops supportive, respectful relationships with children and parents while maintaining strict confidentiality and following the school’s Code of Conduct;
  • Commits to continuing professional development (including First Aid training and annual Safeguarding / Child Protection updates);
  • Prioritises Child Protection and is committed to safeguarding children’s welfare—both at home and in school.
