Teaching Assistant (SEN) Level 2

Contract Type: Fixed term until 31 August 2027

Pay Grade: Grade D3 to D4

Full-Time Salary: £24,796 to £25,185

Actual Pro-rata Salary (25 hours/week): £14,056.02 to £14,276.53

Hours: 25 hours per week, over 38 weeks per year

Start Date: 1 September 2026

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a friendly, enthusiastic, professional Teaching Assistant (SEN) to work 1:1 with a child who aligns with the learning and pastoral needs of primary children.

In this supportive role, you will:

  • Supervise and assist children in their learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers in implementing educational strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build Trust: Ensure all children feel safe, happy, and able to learn.
  • Create Supportive Learning: Establish a purposeful, orderly, and nurturing environment.
  • Manage Behaviour: Assist teachers in behaviour management, using respectful strategies while adhering to the school’s Behaviour Policy to tackle challenging behaviour.
  • Pupil-Centric: Understand the students, school community, and code of conduct, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Commit to Continuing Professional Development: Engage in relevant training, including:
    • First Aid
    • Annual Safeguarding / Child Protection
  • Prioritise Safeguarding: Commit to safeguarding under Child Protection policies, ensuring welfare is central to your practice.
