Are you an adaptable, proactive Teaching Assistant or a high-calibre graduate looking for a dynamic role this September?
On behalf of a leading secondary academy in Greenwich (part of the renowned Harris Federation), we are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for an ongoing temporary position. Starting this September, this role offers an excellent opportunity to embed yourself within a highly successful school environment, with the potential for the contract to extend.
The Role
In this role, you will provide vital academic and pastoral support to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, working alongside classroom teachers to ensure no student is left behind.
- In-Class Support: Assist subject teachers by breaking down tasks, managing classroom dynamics, and keeping students focused.
- Targeted Interventions: Lead 1:on:1 and small group sessions for students who need extra support in core subjects or those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) such as dyslexia, ASD, or ADHD.
- Adaptability: Swiftly adapt to different classroom environments and subject areas as required by the school's daily needs.
- Resource Preparation: Help prepare learning materials tailored to the specific learning targets of vulnerable students.

What We Are Looking For
Because this position is ongoing, we need someone who can hit the ground running and adapt quickly to the school's rhythm.
- Experience or Background: Prior experience supporting young people (as a TA, tutor, camp leader, or youth worker) OR a recent university degree with a strong desire to work in education.
- Flexibility and Resilience: A positive attitude toward an unconfirmed assignment duration, with the consistency to give 100% every day.
- Strong Communication: The ability to build rapid rapport with secondary school students and collaborate effectively with teaching staff.
